Ministry Opportunities
100 Club - The 100 Club is a voluntary group within the church (open to anyone) who wishes to help financially in special needs. This contribution is an over and above gift. The commitment is for no more than $100.00 / quarter. When an unscheduled / unbudgeted need arises within the church, MLG authorizes that a letter be sent to members of the 100 Club asking for contributions to meet this need. As monies become available the need is addressed. For more information contact Rev Noffke or the church office.
Chimes - Printed approximately every two weeks by the church office. Copies are emailed or mailed to each family who participates in the life of our church. Additionally a web version of Chimes (edited) is included on the Local UCC News page tab (to the left) as soon as it is available. For inclusion of any announcements or articles for Chimes, and/or the web site, please contact the church office @ 269-422-1590, or e-mail to zionuccbaroda@gmail.com. Please include the name and phone number of a contact person.
Rummage - Sponsored by Ladies' Fellowship, this annual event provides income for Ladies' Fellowship's current projects, as well as remarkable fellowship, and as a wonderful by-product, the rummage sales clean out people's closets.
Scrip Program - Available each Sunday between services, our scrip program offers an opportunity to contirbute to the church without any additional cost to you. Purchase any of over 100 vendor's coupons, and the church will receive a rebate. Watch soon for a listing of vendors in our area that participate in the scrip program.
A portion of the proceeds from the scrip program were recently used to update the "cry room" off the sanctuary as well as a generous donation to SS for the purchase of new curriculum.
Soup Kitchen - Over 75 people in our church routinely paricipate in donating, preparing, and serving a meal at the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen. We traditionally serve in February, April, June, August, October and December on the third Wednesday of the month.
Soup Salad Luncheon - Hosted twice each year by the Women's Fellowship, the food and hospitality are delightful.
Bridgman Food Pantries - Members of Zion donate dry goods to the Bridgman Food Pantries weekly. These canned and dry goods are distributed to local families twice / week.
Christian Education Program - Our Christian Education program includes pre-K through adult activities. You are invited to become involved as a participant, teacher, leader, helper, substitute, crafts person, provider of craft supplies, provider of refreshments, or any other way that strikes your fancy. Carolyn Shuler is our Christian Education coordinator. Please feel free to speak to either Carolyn or Rev Noffke about your interest.
